Our referral program partners recommend NPVAs® -- and they use them too!

The Program:

Nonprofits engage consultants with the intention of getting value out of every recommendation. However, lack of volunteer bandwidth or some of the skills needed for implementation can result in recommendations winding up in a file folder instead. Our referral program for consultants enables them to recommend our NPVA® service as a trusted support for the implementation process.

We also offer a referral program for nonprofit associations and vendors who want to offer a lifeline to nonprofits they may see struggling with inadequate staffing.

We encourage nonprofit consultants and associations who recommend our NPVA® service to use it for themselves. It not only gives them greater confidence in making recommendations, it also provides them with valuable support in accomplishing their own missions.

The Referral Partner:

Dana Snyder’s company, Positive Equation, helps nonprofits build passionate engagement and commitment from their donors, volunteers, and partners through the innovative use of digital marketing and social media tools.

One of the digital marketing tools Dana utilizes to promote her own business is a weekly podcast, Missions to Movements. Listeners learn from case studies of nonprofits that have used digital marketing effectively, and they also get to know Dana.

The Challenge:

Putting together a weekly podcast (79 episodes and counting) and promoting it takes an investment of time. To ensure she can do it all – lead her company, coach clients, and deliver a 5-star rated podcast – Dana has engaged a More Than Giving Co. Nonprofit Virtual Assistant (NPVA®) to streamline and support the process of booking guests and promoting new episodes.

The Support:

"I’ve been working with The More Than Giving Co. for the past 6 months or so now and LOVE them. I have a dedicated Nonprofit Virtual Assistant, and she’s been incredible in managing the scheduling of podcast guests, ensuring they have content to share, and creating all my podcast teaser content." - Dana Snyder, CEO, Positive Equation

Dana’s NPVA®, Kacy, supports her 10 hours/month, by:

  • Coordinating the Scheduling of Podcast Guests Once Dana has identified a guest, she loops Kacy into the email thread. Kacy takes it from there, following up with a booking link, a request for a headshot and bio, and essential details about the podcast. Once Dana has drafted a guest question sheet, Kacy shares it to ensure guests can think about their answers in advance.

  • Producing Teaser and Promotional Content Each podcast episode has both a video and audio component. When a new episode is recorded, Dana will clip out a few video highlights or Kacy will listen to the episode and make notes of meaningful quotes for Dana’s approval. Kacy adds the selected video clips to Instagram reels and YouTube teasers created in Canva. She also uses the guest headshot to prepare podcast graphics in Canva using branded templates. These images are used in Instagram and LinkedIn carousel posts, a YouTube short video, a YouTube teaser video, and an Instagram reel. All promotional content is used on Positive Equation’s social media channels and shared with the guest so they can promote their episode.

  • Creating a Blog Post – For each episode, Dana’s podcast team will produce the audio rendering of the interview and show notes, and a description of the interview and main takeaways. Kacy uses the show notes to create a blog post for the Positive Equation website, which includes a feature image created in Canva and a YouTube video teaser.

The Takeaway:

Whether you’re a nonprofit organization or a referral partner, there are a wide range of functions a Nonprofit Certified™ Virtual Assistant can support. If a process requires organization, attention to detail, a regular investment of time, and knowledge of the nonprofit sector, an NPVA® can be a game-changer, freeing you up to focus on tasks only you can address.
