Nonprofit CRM & Data Systems Specialist

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in nonprofit data management, technology systems audits and analytics, with the ability to translate organizational needs into effective tools, processes, and insights. They will demonstrate expertise in areas such as CRM systems, task organizing, data analysis, reporting, and technology solutions that support fundraising, operations, and strategic decision-making. Associates are expected to contribute practical, data-informed strategies that help organizations strengthen systems, improve efficiency, and make informed decisions that advance mission-driven outcomes.

The Associate level at More Than Giving Co. calls for expertise in a specific field (s) or skill set (s). This position is primarily project based. Associates are responsible for providing guidance, support, and execution independently. This is a contractor position.

Targeted Technical Skills
Preferred candidates will have hands-on experience with several of the following:

  • CRM configuration and administration (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Little Green Light, Neon One, DonorPerfect, Bloomerang, or similar nonprofit CRM platforms)

  • CRM data management including data cleanup, field structure review, deduplication, imports/exports, and data standardization

  • Building and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data exports to support fundraising, operations, and leadership reporting

  • Creating and managing online forms and data collection tools (CRM forms, Google Forms, embedded donation forms, etc.)

  • Implementing workflow automations and system processes within CRM platforms or automation tools

  • Supporting integration between nonprofit technology platforms (CRM, email marketing, event tools, financial systems, project management tools)

  • Email marketing platform configuration and list management (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, Brevo, etc.)

  • Spreadsheet-based data analysis and reporting (Excel / Google Sheets)

  • System documentation including process documentation, SOPs, and system diagrams

More Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized tasks, solve complex problems, and make decisions within their area of expertise. Create, implement, and optimize strategies or solutions.

  • Manage client volunteers, team members, and vendors in their specialized roles.

  • Oversee and lead a team to achieve project goals and objectives.

  • Lead by example, motivate others, and contribute to the overall success of the company.

  • In some instances, oversee/coordinate day-to-day operations of the project.

  • Play a key role in achieving organizational goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate, when needed, with NPVAs, Senior Consultants, and members of the MTG Operations team.

Eligibility

  • Must have experience with various CRM platforms, integrations, automations, reporting, data cleanup, and documentation.

  • Must have evidence of proficiency in a specific area (s) of expertise. Must exhibit an in-depth knowledge, technical skills, and expertise in a particular field. Skills are usually highly specialized and often require formal education or certification.

  • Must have demonstrated the ability to successfully lead and manage people, vendors, and projects.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Maintain reliable high-speed internet connection, computer hardware and software, reliable phone/headset. Hired contractors are required to have their own equipment.

  • Be based in the U.S. and agree to a criminal background check.

  • Provide 3 references.

  • Agree to complete The More than Giving Co NPVA® certification program.
